Due to a steady increase in booking new projects, GSM Industrial is pleased to be starting up a second shift of shop workers. “A few years ago, we had to pull back our second shift due the economic downturn so it is a good sign that we are able to get it going again” says General Manager Brian Dombach. Although GSM hasn’t reached pre-recession levels yet, customers are demanding quicker turn-around time on large projects so it necessitates working on a few projects nearly 24/7 to get them done on time. There is an increase in activity from both new and existing customers right now. Dombach continues, “We are able to move a few of our key production team members to 2nd shift to lead the efforts of a small team. I like to think of it as a SWAT Team, an experienced task force of sorts which will be focused on targeted projects.” This also creates some opportunity to add to the team. GSM Industrial is currently recruiting locally for positions like Welders, Millwrights, Industrial Pipe Fitters, and Painter/Blaster. Per Dombach: “we are interested in getting people that can fit our culture. It’s a place where safety, hard work, and reliability are valued. We are as likely to add a welder with 15 years of experience as we are to add someone with no direct experience but a great work ethic.”
